Do you think a dead pixel will know itself is dead so as to copy from the nearby pixels??

Of a pixel knows its neighbour is dead so as to crone itself to its neighbout position?

Develop this logic may be more expensive than change the CCD when customer found dead pixel.

d2c is no kidding. This feature is in fact adopted by Olympus in their high level dc models. I don't remember how they call this technique but I think you can find the answer from their website.
