It is a very stupid question but I mis-place my manual, so...
I am trying to use an external Nikon SB-16 flash on it. So I can only use the automatic mode(i/o of the TTL). How can I activate the external flash without using the internal flash. (Theortically, the sensor in the external flash can detect that of the internal one and reduce its flash power to accomdate. Acutally photos are slightly over-exposed. Curently, I one-stop down the aperture to accomodate)

If the Speedlight Options: Speedlight Control option in the SET-UP menu is set to "AUTO", only the external Speedlight will fire.

If this option is set to "Int & Ext Active" then the external Speedlight and the built-in Speedlight will fire at the same time.
