只是換底而不用買過一部新機，可能確是高價professional SLR的最佳出路。只要買個digital modul, 原本的R8或R9就可以影埋film或digital。這就正如中底機的數碼機背一樣。

不過個底都要成$4500(歐元), 仍是有1.37X factor, 就有點可惜。

其實 panasonic 在 DV 的畫質還不錯的說....
真攪不懂在 DC 卻與市場高階產品有那麼大差距... ?

i thought i had read somewhere in the article or somewhere else the scheduled release time of this module R is end of 2004. if thats true, i don't think a lot of people will hold their breath on it. who know what will happen in another 1.5 yr's time.

i think the price is quite 'friendly' (though i still cannot afford nor have i got an R system), as for the price point at this moment. we are talking about a 10million pixel PRO back and a crop factor of 'JUST' 1.37.

Velsper hing, i believe it should be OK, as Leica's magic is really in the glass if we put the fine craftmanship aside.

Just wonder will they be able to make the same back for their M series.

i seriously doubt if this will become a new trend for the industry, at least i cannot see the economic of this happening in the 135 format.

Besides Leica R, i cannot think of which other brand will be same fuzzy enough to develop a pure digital back which could easily cost a good multiple of their 'front' body? or at least not until the technology can drive the cost of the digital back down a lot to match up with rest of the system.

and not until the form factor can be reduced by a lot, i also don't think they will launch a similar back for Leica Ms, as it simply destroy the beauty of a compact M.

i see this as a technical showcase for venture, more than they really want to launch a new legendary product to the market.
