C-hing, any idea why are my photos less sharp, especially the color red, when I convert them from RAW to JPEG? Many thanks.

I assume you meant when you view the Raw image it looks "sharper" than the converted JPEG image. Which tool are you using to process your Raw? What were the conversation settings such as Color Space and Quality?

Thanks for the reply ACanonGuy.
I use Canon DPP to convert my RAW into JPG with Image Quality sets to 10 and Output resolution sets to 350 dpi. I have no idea why my RAW images looks a lot sharper than my JPG ones.

I have been using DPP until just recently and I have not experienced the same issue that you mentioned. The exported JPEG image usually looks similar to the Raw image when being viewed side-by-side from the computer. Can you post a screen shot of both images?

Thanks guys. I figured it out what happened. My JPG was actually normal when view from DPP, it was only less sharp when view from 'Windows Photo Gallery'.

I tried to fix it from Window's 'Color Management' under 'Control Panel', but did not solve it.

In fact, I found that different photo viewing program tends to give different saturation of colours

eg.
Window Picture and Fax Viewer give mroe saturated photos
ACDSee is less saturated
