I would like to buy a dc under $2000 with manual mode, is canon a540 a good choice? or any other recommend? or where can I buy canon A540? seems out of stock most chain store. thankz .

Whether it is a good choice for an A540? Well, it all depends.

In term of low price, light weight and power supply, it is, as it costs less than $1500, and it uses only 2 AA size cells.

For serious photography, it isn't, the refreshing time between 2 flashes is slow, the quality of the images is low.

There are some stocks around, but you have to try your luck.
