i just bought canon 400 in mong kok...
but i find its picture is not too good ...
video is ok
it is good when i take picture in day time
but not good at night time
and i don't know how to set my camera to take good picture at night
(i mean within person in the picture)
and i don't know why my pictures always not clear
anybody who have such experience can help help me?

Did U find that there would have some light on the face of the close object? That was the assistance focusing light. Some DC can select it on or off. Most of Canon DC provide this function. And some of them could be selected on or off. Check it out.

2 reasons for picture not clear:
1. hand shake - whole picture not clear, no sharp point
2. focus error - subject not clear, but somewhere in the picture is sharp
what is your case?

basic solutions to your problems:
for 1, turn off "slow shutter" option on the camera, use flash
for 2, turn off "AiAF" option on the camera, put your subject in the middle of LCD and shoot again

If you want to use night shot mode (record mode set to manual + flash set to slow synchro mode), tripod is recommended unless you can hold the camera firmly.
