Would any experts please advise if a protective plastic cover should be taped on top of the LCD of Canon G5. I bought one but accidentally added my finger prints on the adhesive layer, so I discarded that plastic without putting it on the LCD.

I observe that if the adhesive cover is taped on the LCD, there will be no going-back as the LCD surface would either be scratched or left with the glue of the adhesive layer.

It seems therefore that either one can tape the LCD cover without bubbles or prints in one go or simply expose the LCD to scratch or dust by not putting the LCD cover at all.
