Are you using the Scene mode ? Because some scene mode force you to set to redeye flash ! Turn back to auto, then at the centre button, press up, then you can select the flash back to auto la ! By the way, the flash for 2100/3100 is underexposure, try to set the exposure compensation to +1 la !
