Does Anyone here use Manfrotoo 718B or 718SHB tripod? I know that the maximum height with centre column for 718B is 166cm (65.5 inches), while that for 718SHB is 123cm (48.5 inches). I prefer 718SHB because of its shorter closed length (40cm), but I wonder whether 718SHB tripod is high enough for general use? Anyone can share your experience or opinion? Thanks!

As the 718 series, they are not so stable when you use the maximum height ( try to goto DC Fever to test it, they have display, they are too weak for me), I prefer 190 ($850-$900) + 141RC head ($450), some shop selling only $1200-$1250 for set!
Much better then 718series
U can goto some shop to ask the Manfrotto catalogue, and check all the details B4 you make a decision!
