You can consider the following models:-

1) Canon A75 (around $2,000)
2) Nikon 3200 (around $1,700); but if you can pay more, 4200 is better because of its high quality lens
3) Olympus AZ-1 (around $2,500)
4) Casio QV-R41 (around $2,300)
5) Konica Minolta X31 (around $1,500)
6) Pentax S30 (no idea, but likely to be under $2,000)

In fact, if you do not mind to buy some out-dated models, there are certainly lots of choices! You better spend a day at Mongkok to make a research. Beware of the "black shop" such as "Veto" (龍都)
