I will suggest Sigma EF500 DG super for EOS300D if you have limited budget for flash
since Sigma flash almost have 90% same functions as 550EX and 580EX, it will be a budget buy, and you will not reget what you have for 1.6K
580EX is excellent choice but pricey, if you do not care any budget concerns, please buy one ASAP, Canon HK will raise it's price on 1/4/2005
and 550EX is moderate flash of all 3, but its performance is a bit behind 580EX due to its function cannot fully match with E-TTL2 system such as K number transfer, distance tranfer, etc.
