OUT FOCUS my friend.

Use ONE SHOT and single pt AF with the red dot on the baby's eye to get better result.

我係用300d同50mm1.4的,已經常用中間單點對的了,但好多時對小朋友的頭,出來都好似ChrisPoon兄個幅咁,放大個頭都係矇

至於ChrisPoon係咪單點就唔知la.

Agree, exp on indoor low light, use center point , don't use multi point & use on one shot mode.

There are a few issues here.
1.The focus is not between the eyes, it is near the baby's right hand.
2. Even the right hand is not sharp. (see 4)
3. Better to use single point focus at the desired area, but not focus and recompose, which may cause the focus point to shift.
4. 50 1.4 is not sharp wide open, and the DOF is very narrow, just a little focus point mis-judegement will cause your image to be blurry.

....and mind you, your equipment can have focus problem. :-)

My 350D+50 1.4 front focus, after tuning by Canon, everything is fine.

thanks a lot, actually i usually use P mode (4.0 1/60) for shooting and get the result as mentioned above. Anyway, thanks a lot and I will send all my toys to Canon for tuning.

If you shoot your 300D + 50 1.4 at 1/60 and complain about softness, I can feel the "Canon" sharks in this forum getting close.......
