I'm joining a tour to Wong Shan, China. What focal lengths would you recommend? I have a 17-40mm. Is a tele of 100 or 135mm useful? I don't have a tele zoom but have a 135mm. Should I get a monopod?

It'll be wise to prepare for rain too because it's often misty and rainy in mountain areas.

想防水防塵就用1系相機,17-40/4L 唔錯丫,再加多支小小白就掂過碌庶囉!!!

Wong Shan, of course as light as possible. I assume you will walk a lot, right. DC may not be a bad idea, but if you stick to DSLR, definitely only 1 lens, 24-105 will be a good range. Monopod, yes, if you can manage to carry all these. A lot of protection to the humidity and rain.

Thanks. I'll go next week. As there are often rains and mists, I'll carry a raincoat and plastic bags to protect me and my camera.

I don't have the zooms as you all mentioned. The 24-105 is expensive. Perhaps a 85mm is fine to fill the gap between 50 and 135mm?? I use primes because of smaller and lighter lenses and good quality.

There are cable cars now, so it's not as much walking as in the past. But I wish I had 4 strong legs to walk to the peaks. #_#

廣角比較用得多.有支長鏡當然 最好.唔係都冇法旨.不過一定要帶腳同係山上捕多一兩日.因為黃山天氣好唔多.講命水!
