400D VS D80 Post time: 12 月 18 日 |
|
|
Dear All....
I am a new beginner to DSLR camera, now I am considering to buy one, and very headche, don't know which one option is better :
Canon 400D Kit Set OR Nikon D80 Kit Set ?
I know D80 is more expensive then 400D (Around HKD2000 something), but the most important is the following investment , means the lens and other accessories. As I browsed some web site telling the lens of Canon is much more expensive then Nikon, and I have checked. For example, Canon : 50mm /f1.4 (HKD 2680) but Nikon 50mm /f1.4 (HKD 1800)....there is around 880 difference, I know the most enojyable thing in Camera is to buy the lens, so what I think is D400, start up cheap, at $6200, but the lens is the most heavier burden ?? Am I right ?
Also Nikon D80...Made IN Thailand... is it a problem or would it be a hesitation for you guys to pick a camera ??
So very headche ar.....

I was a Nikon user & I am now a die hard CAN0N user (cannot switch to NIKON) becauses of the lenses, flashs investment etc. on CAN0N.
Most of my colleague are CAN0N friends [easy to borrow accessories from colleague], just around 20% of them are Nikon friends, but they use D200 or D70S, not D80.
In terms of the accessories, Nikon is CHEAPER, e.g. 580EX vs SB800
In terms of the kit lens, Nikon's all kit lens are far better than the 18-55 or 17-85IS of CAN0N in terms of corner sharpness & CA
In terms of the noise at high ISO, CAN0N is better, but u cannot distinguish in 5R or even 8R photos
In terms of the focusing speed in telephoto lenses, CAN0N is faster, but unless u shoot flying birds & racing cars which fly/drive across the finder.
I recommend u to consider D80 if u have $.
I will also consider buying a D80 + kit lens (18~135mm) soon for hiking.

Thanks you very much for your advice....so then in terms of LENS, is it Nikon is much cheaper then Canon ? I just compare the lens of 50 mm f/1.4 only, I didn't compare the other.....
since my colleague is Canon Fans...so I just know something about the Canon Lens knowledge from him such as L-Series, means the high leve of lens...and USM.....but I know nothing about the Nikon lens....don't know how to distinguish the level of the Lens upon their model number.... I am quite concern about the Lens cost...I don't know whether 50mm f/1.4 is just a only one extremem case..... or generally Nikon's Lens is much cheaper then Canon...
Thank you so much !

防手震 --> IS

Thank u Bean.........actually I am just interested in photo shooting in these 2 weeks and I really like it....and reading the message board is very funny as the people are very friendly and glad to answer all the questions....even some silly questions from the beginners such as me....I think Photo Shooting is not just about the Equipments and Photos, and the norm as well. ^_^

Hi Obi-wan, umm.... since I want to buy the original brand lens....and I have the very bad experience, my brother got a film camera F-601 ages ago, and few years later, the Sigma Lens, outer sheel plastic melt and the lense even could not move to zoom as the plastic melt tightly......so terrible....I know nothing about Tamron, but Sigma really makes me afraid of using the sub-brand lens....but of course...budget is a very key issue since the investment in Lens could make u bankrupt.......by the way, thank u to advise the lens to me...perhaps you could tell me more about the comments toward sub-brands.....so that i coudl save $$$$.

The only problem with Tamron 90/2.8 is its lower focusing speed, the quality is extremely good, I have this lens. VERY VERY sharp even at 2.8.
Sigma also make some good lens, e.g. 180/3.5 or 150/2.8
u can compare other reviewer's view on

Choosing a system is quite important if you would like to aviod trouble and cost of switching system. Beside Canon and Nikon, I would recommend you to take a look at Pentax and Sony (= Minolta) also, you will find that they have their own strength!
