i would like to buy this dc but i have the following concerns. pls give me some advices. i want to take it to my trip to japan at the end of jan 2003.

a. i read from some forums that there is a bug in connection to the night scene best shot ... is that true ? has it been fixed already ?

b. i have checked the price in man shing = HKD4,580 (free 128mb CF card). is man shing a good place with good price ?

c. i understand that i can only use 4 x AA rechargable batteries for this dc. could someone recommend some good choices of rechargable batteries (and charger also) for me ?

in fact i'm a beginner for dc. i like to buy an expensive one like this because i don't want to waste money to start with a simply one. hope you guys can give me useful feedback. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

qv5700 個lcd mon唔係好靚， 不過， 過左去電腦度就好清好sharp., 操作比較慢， 你試過接受到呢樣就買啦.

bug唔係部部機都有...u can test the bestshot bug.

萬成係老字號, 絕對信得過, 不過有時人多o既時候, 未必夠人手招呼你.

我用緊 QV-4000, 睇過 QV-5700 o既 sample pics, 畫質細緻 o左好多, 比部分大牌子機更好

至於操作方面, QV-5700 對焦依然較慢, 快門遲滯沒有太大改善. 操作快定慢有時都幾主觀, 建議你比較埋 Canon G3 同 Olympus 5050

不過純粹睇畫質又有 5M 呢個價錢已經好吸引

Very good performance, except pretty slow AF/MF and not way not to turn off standby mode. The movie without sound is useless.

Being a QV-4000's user, I do not recommend that anyone purchase Casio QV-5700 at all. Such camera is just based on QV-4000's body & changes from 4M pixel CCD to 5M one. Well, I believe that QV-4000 is also capable of adjusting its ISO value if there is a latest firmware available. In order to make her customer upgrading their QV-4000, Casio do not want to do so. That's her business style. Don't be a fool any more. Don't buy it.

In my opinion, those technologies behind Canon G3 are much innovative / attractive than Casio QV-5700. If G4 is equiped with 5MP CCD & is able for using 2AA batteries rather than those BP-511/512 Li-ion ones, I have to turn back to Canon without any consideration.

無錯, QV-4000 同 QV-5700 係同一機身同一鏡頭, 只係 CCD 由 4M 提升做 5M, 再加上可改變 ISO 值 同 取消了自動抑噪 (auto NR), 最後兩者相信係由更新 firmware 做到, 而CCD 方面應該優化o左, 所以當大家都影到最大 resolution o既 時候, QV-5700 都明顯比 4000 靚好多

QV-4000 被用家彈得最緊要o既係auto NR, 當曝光過長 (官方無提供實際數字係幾快) 或者部機認為有需要o既時侯, NR 要自行啟動, 攪到幅相某 D 地方間唔中有D好似油畫咁輕微o既濛濛地. 外國o既 QV-4000 用家一直向 Casio 爭取新 firmware 去取消 auto NR, Casio 回覆過幾次番話唔會有新 firmware, 不過響 dpreview.com Casio Forum, 有一個自稱係 Casio o既 員工就出現過幾次話就o黎有新 firmware, 不過此君已經有好幾個月無出現過.

在商言商, 好難怪 Casio 會將 改變ISO 同取消auto NR 放響 QV-5700 身上, 我諗除非係操作上好嚴重 o既 bug (e.g. 供電問題), 係 enhancement 方面 唔好期望 Casio 唔會有新 firmware 俾你 download, 所以點解, 對 QV-4000 用家 o黎 講 QV-5700 絕對唔吸引, 仲有 D 火滾添!

不過我覺得 auto NR 問題絕對唔嚴重, 至於 ISO 就有最好, 無都無乜所謂

QV-5700 咁 o既 質素, 賣 $4680, 真係抵到爛!
(如果對焦有 S602 咁快, 同有埋熱靴 o既 話, 我即刻買!)

Technically speaking, QV-5700 just provides a fair performance in image quality (not very good or excellent...)

Thanks for your info, but 1.01 was released long ago, it didn't address the auto-NR problem. My QV-4000 bought in June was already equipped with 1.01

thanks for all of you who contribute your precious opinions. i still have some questions remained unclear :

a. will it cost a lot to buy an external flash ?? since there is no hotshoe on this model, in what way(s) can i affix the flash on the camera ?? (i don't know if it's a stupid question.)

b. is it a good feature that this model is operated by 4 x AA rechargable batteries ?? have anyone got some good choices of batteries and charger for me please ??

c. considering i'm a beginner/budget buyer, will QV-5700 be a good option anyway ??

Talking about a formal English grammar, "upgrading" is a Present Participle construction. Do you learn it before? If not, make a note right now.

Whatever you write a sentence based on "Present Tense", "Past Tense" or "Future Tense", you have to keep it sentence in the consistent of the time expressed by verb. Read quite some reviews saying Good abt Casio camers, including Hk and other int's websites. And their choices of Canon lenses are good. However soemhow u r still hesitated with a non-Camera maker brand name.
