I believe that all the MZ-3 has a bug with autofocus function when taking movie/video. Can you do a brief test like the follow to see if that problem exist:
1. set yr MZ-3 movie function into "basic".
2. put it on a tripod (or hold it steady with your hand) tehn shoot soem still/steady subject. (things that do not move)
3. make sure "little flower", "little mountain" doesn't exist on top right corner of yr LCD (i.e. autofocus is engaged)
4. The question is : will your video go out of focus for a brief half-a-second every 5 seconds?
Mine does have this problem and I know a few frns get same probl.

我都發現MZS拍MOVIE時耐不耐就會有OUT FOCUS出現,但又不覺每隔五秒就有半秒咁嚴重.

不過,聽講用DC拍MOVIE是會這樣的,就算是富士M603都很容易有OUT FOCUS出現.

really?, but My v3 can take very smooth 640X480 movies wo!!! I dont really like that short-coming. Lukcily it is overcome-able.
