Which DC and model do you hold in hand?
If you don not supply the DC that you have, how can we help?
Even you upgraded the firmare, it my be nothing to help you.

其實每一部相機(正確講法是有processor 的電子產品)都會有一個軟件做控制, 該軟件便是Firmware。

Luppi 你的問題並不能靠upgrade firmware來解決, 因為你部相機reset 設定的原因是....當你把電池取出後, 相機便沒有電力去維持記憶, 有部份相機的設計是會在機會裝有後備電池 或電容(capacitor)來短暫維持記憶(可維持數小時至數日不等), 但並非每一機種都有此設計。

小弟都有一部相機Coolpix 880 也有相同的問題, 我的做法是拔電池前先接上火牛, 後拔電池, 直至叉滿電池後, 安裝好電池才拔掉火牛。

Firmware is the software inside the appliance. Like the BIOS in the computer, VGA BIOS in VGA card, control software inside DC.

Normally used software, like excel, games is stored in media likes CD, Floppy, harddisk or etc which may be portable.

But firmware is stored in the memory IC inside the appliance. So we use the term firmware to describe it.

firmware is also software.. why we need to give it a special name "firmware" because firmware is usally stored in ROM and it will not be erased when turned off the machine or whole hardisk/memory card being formatted.
