我係新手入門....呢兩部唔知ching會點揀呢???

個人意見，D80會好過40D，
D80係1.5x放大率，40D係1.6x，
加上CCD動態範圍高過CMOS。
如果好想買日本制既機，或者有知心友用Canon機，就一定要40D。

其實兩部都係好機，
以功能而言，
40D係比D80優勝，
不過D80的性能亦一點都不失禮，
而且他的Kit 鏡質素亦較40D的優勝，
甚至不少的攝影都喜愛把D80作為他們日常工作用的主機，
40D比D80明顯優勝的地方在於其連拍速度(6.5fps vs 3 fps)，
用來影動態目標特別有用，
以及擁有CMOS自動除塵及LiveView。

不過兩者價格相差有一段距離，
以新手而言，
D80使用已經很夠，
其他的就睇閣下是否需要40D的連拍速度。

另外，閣下有特別的品牌喜好嗎？
這亦可以作為一點點參考，
如果你身邊有朋友用緊Canon & Nikon的DSLR，
亦可以試下借來玩玩，
看看哪一個操作系統較適合自己。

我當初都係係400D, 40D & D80作出選擇，
最後因為需要高速連拍以及長期習慣左Canon的操作而選了40D。

40d color control and exposure light mettering is far away better than d80

i have both 40d and d80

d80 aways make a wrong exposure or over bright

but d80 is cheaper and cheap lens quanltiy is good

for normal use af-s 17~80dx only not more than hkd2000.00
but with good quanlity

about the picture speed 3fp or 6.5fp are no meaning
for a begginer first have to learn step by step slowy to learn better

40D個價暫時都仲係好硬下，
冇乜點減，
如果Buget有限，又唔係對Canon特別喜愛，
D80實在係抵用之選。

D80 & 40D are 2 different type of DSLR

40D has a body even stronger than 5D, much faster focusing speed, 40D should be similar class of D200

D80 is a similar to D70/D70s camera.

D80 performs badly in high EV (always dead white), must shoot with a little under exposure in order to keep the highlight details!

40D has a Highlight Rendition mode to capture highlight without "dead white"

D80 and 40D are good at their respective price. You won't go wrong in getting either.

For a beginner, I think the automatic dust removal mechanism in 40D is quite useful.
