I already got a AIS 50mm f/1.4 for over 10 years. I still use it on my D40. So far, this lens keep good image quality except it need to use my finger to do focusing. :-( Because of this focusing problem, I've installed a split image focusing screen inside my D40. :-p

Recently, I would like to upgrade my 50mm f/1.4, now I'm struggling on either Nikon or Sigma. I've taken a look on my friend using AF 24-70mm f/2.8 but the image is not as sharp as 50mm f/1.4 :-( (or I can say even poorer than his 50mm f/1.4) That's means to get the very sharp and best image, it seems that 50mm f/1.4 is a very good choice for me :-p

Before Nikon AFS 50mm coming out, Sigma has the good price / performance in the market. I would like to see any comparison between Sigma and Nikon. This Sigma is the one I've seen doing their best and comment is good when compare with Nikon AF 50mm f/1.4.

Those are what I've observed so far. Any comment ?
