Hello all.
I bought a Goki battery for my S50 as back up battery. When i recharge it with the Canon battery charger, the red flash night is on (which means it's charging) but then the night turns off in less than 5 mins. I wonder what's wrong with the battery or the something.

Your battery may suffered the 'memory effect' . To recover,
You can discharge the battery by continous turn on the DC
until Bat-Low. Then charge the battery until it is full. Then
use the DC to discharge it again. Repeat charge and discharge process for about five times. Check whether the charging time of the Goki battery is prolonged or not?
If needs a longer charging hours, that means the battery
has been recovered. On the contrary, the battery is no longer to use because the reson to raise memory effect took place is the battery has been stored for a very long long time. So I guess you'd bought an old battey.

I thought memory effect is a thing of the past for these batteries. They are not NiCa, are they?

Dont waste the time, if your GoKi battery can take back to the shop , you try to exchange other battery. and you need to bring the invoice and less than 7day.

Or you can go to WenChai computer centre or wenchai 298 centre, buy another new replacement battery, around $120-160 only.
