I'm a DC beginner and just bought a A70 with good price and would like to know some basic technique of using DC (in particular A70) to take good photo of my new born baby.

I found it's very hard to focus without using flash in indoor cause the baby moves very fast.

Should I use the auto mode or adjust it via M, P, iso...etc.

Please give some advice, many thanks.

fast motion?

there is a mode for fast motion.

besides, you can set fast shutter speed manually through M mode or shutter priority mode

i am also new to photography but i would like to share my experience in taking photo for new born bb.

I also using A70. I think the most difficult situation for taking photos with new born bb is the low light environment in indoor. As such, i always use AV mode so that i can use large Aperture, i.e. 2.8 for the photo. For the ISO, don't use ISO bigger than 200 coz the outcome of the photos will not be so good.
The other point you should be aware is that white balance, try not to use auto white balance but set them to right one to suit you environment.

The good thing of using a DC is you can take as much as you can and see the different in different setting. You will learn more after you take few hundreds shoots!

My little one is 11 months old and can't stay put for a second. I found it better to use a slave flash and 1/125. But flashes may hurt his eyes, so I use iso400 sometimes, and then use Neatimage to remove the noise.
