題目Need your advice in taking jewellery products!     Post time: 11 月 8 日

Hi I am just wondering if anyone has any expertise in taking jewellery products with a digital camera before? This has been a difficult area for most photographers. Problems include the amount of lighting, where to put them, what kind of resolution needed from a DC, how to place your item, etc. Any links you guys can refer me to? Welcome your comments please!

I am not an expert.. but I tried this before for a friend selling fashion accessories (some with stones)

put item (jewlery, watches, whatever) on a clean velvet black cloth leveling on a plain of 60 to 45 degree (as long the item do not fall off)

use lamps pointing directly at the item (2-3 is ok.. as long they are same high wattage type color blub)

put the camera on a tripod tiling to the same degree plain the item lies on. and turn on the macro mode (dont know how big your items are, if they are big, dont bother using macro... if they are rings, pendants, etc use macro to get better focus)

All is there to do is manually set white balance (on a white piece of paper) set focus point to spot, aiming at the most NON-super reflextive spot of the item, and set it on the timer (so it will not shake by your hand)
and FIRE away!

hope this helps...
