吹水閒聊

If you are one of DSLR camera of the above brands, I just wonder how you will rate their after-sale service.

Two months ago (in the end of October), I place an order for a piece of screw of Canon EF85 f/1.8 lens. At that moment, her staff just told me that it will be available within 2 weeks. Until now, there is no any reply at all. What the hell is going on? Is it that Canon HK Limited don't care a small customer like me or don't concentrate on her camera business exactly.

In order to force Canon service center following up my issue seriously, I am considering to lodge my compliant about such irresponsible attitude a Canon’s customer to Mr. Hideki Ozawa (a president of HK Canon HK Limited). Do you think that it is a workable solution?

When D70 is available for sale in Q2 of the next year, I will turn to Nikon alliance without any consideration. Technically speaking, Canon is definitely a leadership in optical technologies. Personally speaking, Canon HK Limited is a leadership in a worst after-sale service.

Thanks for your replies.

I used to visit Canon service center in the beginning of November & answer whether the part has been available or not. But the answer is still "NO". During the recent Canon Expo 2003, I have also asked Canon's staff at camera clinic section whether the part is in stock or not. But the answer is still "NO" too.

As Canon service center states, it normally take 14 days for repairing service. 14 DAYS... It's a lie absolutely. It should be more than 14 days plus XX days...

Is there any Nikon users right here? Well, I would like to know how long Nikon HK will take for repairing their camera (e.g. SLR or DSLR).

they normally take 1-2 days 2 check ur camera... then the guy will call u up and tell u how long it's take...

If you say so, then Nikon HK serves her customers with a responsible attitude. Canon just ask me waiting, waiting & waiting without any reply. Perphas it's a customer service in Canon style.

I have brough my cp 5000 to repair & the staff said that it
take around 2 weeks. Finally I pick my dc up two week later.
However, I need to check the pick up date by myself. No one
will call you for it.

Talking about their after-sale service, there may be no any difference between Nikon and Canon. I have decided to make a contact with Mr. Hideki Ozawa to follow up my case. It should be a straightforward solution for my case.
