Finally I decided to have S50 before Chinese New Year. I love it so I can play it around but I have problem.

The battery is very easy to run out. You know I need to try this button and that button and LCD must be on. I have charged 4 times battery in a week already.

1. Do I need a spare battery?
2. Should I buy Canon one or get a equivalent one? Will equivalent burn my baby S50? Any good brands to recommend and where can I buy?
3. I am a female and I do not know about picutue shooting. I just know how to use in Auto mode. Is there any magazine will teach how to use DC and how to shoot?

I think you need a spare battery. You can just buy a equivalent one it will not burn your s50. You can try GP.

I suggest you to buy one more spare battery! I got S45, I also need one more battery when I go out to taking photos! Last year, I bought a "water good" canon battery is only $308!
