Want to buy a flash for G5 now, and I prefer the flash could be re-used in the future when upgrade to DSLR. Any advise from experts, in terms of $ and function? Please help me to decide..thanks!!

Hong Price: 550EX=HK$2,450, 420EX=HK$1,380
Water Good: 550EX~2,3XX (I ask in Tung Ying Building)(...rather unreasonable) & I have no information on 420EX...so
You may wish to buy hong good!!!
Anyway, it is better for you to have a look in Mongkok before making any decision...bare in mind those "black shops" in MongKok...

I used Sigma EF500 DG Super for my 300D. The price is only $1,550 (hong good) and is fully compatible with Canon's DC and DSLR.
If you do not upgrade to 300D, 420Ex is OK for G5. However, most of functions of 420EX are control by DC instead. I will not suggest you to buy 420EX for 300D.

I think I'll go for Sigma EF500 DG Supper... price & function are reasonable.... I checked Sigma website, it can be used for both Canon & Nikon, is any adpator required?
