小弟想買枝TeleConverter比部Pro1用,
今日去到灣仔電腦城既時候個Sales同我講佢地冇賣原裝Canon既Teleconvector不過有其他代用品有些可以Zoom到3X添不過,而價錢都係$9xx到....
本來都心癢癢的想買番枝來玩...
不過心想冇奶油Canon果枝要成千七銀都係得1.5X而家佢9XX就有3X...
所以想問下各位大哥大姐既意見....

AFAIK, most teleconverters with magnification beyond 2x will cause severe image softness and distortion.

Not to mention those from lesser known brands usually produce worse quality images than those brand names counterparts.

I would suggest against getting them unless you're really tight on budget and don't mind the image quality degradation.

Maybe you can try bringing your camera along and ask for tests shots first.

睇完你個message我有點問題想請教一下....

其實1.5X應該夠我用....
因為1.5X鏡加到Pro1有300mm對我來說以經夠...
其實我一直都諗住比千七蚊Canon買枝鏡....
不過見其他Brands價錢差咁遠咪睇下係因為Canon賣牌子還是真係值囉~

所以想問下2X或以下既鏡係咪那個Brands都分別不大呢?
還題我應該買Canon枝1.5X會較好呢?

You're welcome. However, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to judge since I have never really used one before, and it's a subjective issue.

Some may think paying >$1500 for a teleconverter is non-sense and would rather pay <$1000 for one whose quality is worse, and vice versa.

Therefore, I strongly suggest you to take test shots with both converters and see if the results are acceptable for you.

BTW, based on my personal experience, using a teleconverter and/or wide-angle converter is very cumbersome (attaching and removing them, flash being blocked, heavier) and thus not very desirable.

But it varies from situation to situation so your milage may vary, say if you go on a trip to take pure wildlife birds photos then you wouldn't have to keep attaching or removing the converter and so.

BTW, you may consider the TCONs by Olympus, which should cost <$1000.

It may require a step-up/down ring to mount on the Pro1, though.
