Dear guys,

what do you guys think the overall newly designed 4/3 system compare to tranditional DSLR DCs.
what I mean is if you are new to DSLR DC world, and you don't have any existing lenes' (either canon or nikon), so would you consider 4/3 system?
it is because, the 4/3 system really sounds really good.
(we all know e-1 is not as good as expect, but i am sure the next will be better)

43 is not cheap,new lenses very expensive, the main drawback is old lenses are no longer useful!! Makes limitation itself!!
Good traditional DSLR can use both new/old and even other makes lenses, mind you full frame DSLR becomes more and more popular!!

I have the same concerns too. I indeed is using EOS for 10 years, and have 2 L-lenses and few bodies (not EOS-1 :p). What bordering me is, traditional DSLR's lenses always has a drawback of the 'requirment of backward compatability' issue, so the old lenses becomes burden of the new system/design.

The problem is, the size of the ccd/cmos senses are way smaller then traditional 35mm film, so the lenses apperas oversized for the digital films - hence, the size of the lenses appear a bit too large.

just like the first time I invested on EOS 10+ years before - all FD lenses are not usable on the then new EOS system. The reason why I invested on EOS then was because I thought a totally new designed lenses system will best fit the a new AF system, so I don't go for Nikon nor Minolta.

The same situation appears now.

I am considering to switch to DSLR, and was wondering if I should stick to my old system.

just stay with your EOS system,canon DSLR takes all EF lenses and with adapters, can use most other makes too!!
Full frame DSLR will be popular soon, now we have 1Ds(canon),SLR/C(kodak), all take EF lenses!! lens crop for 1D is 1.3,1D-II:1.3,D70:1.5,*ist-D:1.5,,300D:1.6,SD10:1.7,and 43system:2.
