I would lke to buy a new DC. My original one is NikonCoolpic 3500. But its zoom is very bad. Can't zoom clearly outside 100m. So I would like to ask which one has a good zoom and good picture quality (won't become blur easily with a littlle hand shake) and with reasonable price ( around 2000-3000)? I also want to buy the DC in japan, will it be cheaper and how about its guarantee?

You need Olympus C-770UZ, 10x zoon with anti-shake, but it is out of your budget.

Second hand FZ1 is good enough for 5 x 7 Inch print
$1,650 is within your budget, 420mm with "anti-hand shake" functioning well and F2.8 at 420mm is valuable in dim light situation too.

As a FZ1 user I highly recommended.

An ultra zooming camera usually is larger in size and more weight. If you are a small lady, I recommend don’t buy such large size camera. I heard many other ladies that they bought the wrong ultra zoom camera because of the size and weight. Therefore, you shall think before buying.

If you are really want to buy an ultra zoom camera, try Cannon S1 IS with 10X optical zoom, image stabilizer and USM. Remember, you shall hold and try this camera in Fortress or Broadway. The cheapest cost is around HK$34xx.
