I am not sure but I think it is possible.
Pixel is NOT the only thing matter. Things like lens quality and size of CCD/CMOS are also important.

i can prove this is true, since i use d30 for more than 3 years and when i compare the photo quality to those 5 mega pixels dc , i can say dslr still have advantage over those 5mp dc, example high iso noise level, and the depth of field is a total different world. of coz it depend on the lens u use.

一句話，而家除左dslr 機，同數碼專業機之外呀，邊架機唔理你幾多萬億象素呀，ISO都唔可以超過400咁濟。咁你話呀。

我而家10D之前係用D30,須然係得三百萬像但影像質素同幼滑情度一定好過D 500萬pixel的pro-consumer機,不過佢差在ISO1600noise勁過10D好多,同最難頂就係佢開機或standby後起動超慢~七八秒左右喇,而家10D兩秒零咁上下開機起動都比人話慢,不過第一代平價DSLR係咁上下架喇.
