I wish to choose a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens. My choices are
(1) Sigma 12-24mm f4.5-5.6 vs Canon 17-40mm f4
(2) Sigma 100-300mm f4 vs Canon 70-200mm f2.8

Both Sigma lenses have more attractive focal lengths and good quality and lower prices, and both Canon lenses have big apertures and recognized quality. So what would you consider if you choose between them? I don't stick to original brands.

if you use DSLR

Wide: Sigma 12-24 / Tamron 11-18 / Canon 10-22
Standard: Canon 24-70 f/2.8L / Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 / Canon 18-85IS
Tele: Sigma 80-400 / Canon 100-400L / Canon 70-200 f/2.8L

Personally i like the following combination
Canon 10-22 + Canon 18-85IS + Canon 100-400L

Tamron 28-75 f2.8 XR di
Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS USM/Canon 70-200 F4L/Canon 100-400 f4.5-5.6 L
Tamron lens' quality is much better than Sigma,
but for tele lens, if you have budget more than 5K, you should buy any of those L class tele lens. L lens can produce better image quality than those Sigma tele lens.
