wanna get a 17-40 f/4 in Xmas too....
Since I hate the 1.6 cropping factor; so
I want buy a 2nd hand (or new if cheap and good enough..) Canon SLR;

any suggestions ??

Physically, EOS5 had most of the functions which were still up date but it had already stopped manufacturing. It could only support ATTL so it would be best to use with 540EZ flash, when use with 550EX is still OK but no ETTL function. I sold it in June at about HK$2200 with the hand grip and the 540EZ flash at $800. It's worthwhile to buy one only if the codition is good and the price is reasonable (say1800~2000)! Of course if you think it had already become out dated, the other choice for me is EOS30V.
