Q1---I have no experience.
Q2---S7000 is FAT16, it only support up to 2G CF.

For wide angle, the recommended lens are only OM W-con-07, W-con-08 or Raynox DCR-6600pro. If your budget is tight, try to search for a second hand at the web.

Two links talked about using 4GB CF Microdrive in a FAT16 supported dc:
1.Hitachi produces 4 GB Microdrive
2.Partition and format 4GB microdrive to FAT16
It seems that only 2GB partition of a 4GB drive will work with S7000. You may follow the suggestions to partition and format the card to FAT16 2GB if you don't mind wasting the rest 2GB.
