Does anyone use Canon 300mm f4 L IS? I'm interested in getting it to shoot stage performances such as pianists in music concerts from the seats or the rear of the auditorium. Is it a suitable lens? How much is it?

Can a 200mm f2.8 L plus 1.4x extender deliver comparable picture quality? It's a feasible combination, and it has better mobility.

EF300mm f4L IS係一支好鏡,呢支IS比之前果支冇IS版本畫質仲有些小improve左,如用200mm f2.8 L 加 1.4x 當然質素會下降,不及300mm f4 L IS,不過接近成萬蚊支定焦鏡一般人會先諗支小白多過諗佢囉.

Thank you. How about the combination 135mm f2 L plus 1.4x or 2x extender? The 135mm lens has a super wide aperture. Many users recommend it as an excellent lens. Is it useful for my purposes?

No. 200/2.8 + 1.4 is very good, if not as good as 300/4 IS, Only drawback is no IS of coz.

2x degrade the lens more then 1.4x, so think which range you need first.

The 200mm f2.8 + 1.4x is long enough, I think, and it's cheaper than 70-200mm f2.8 L, but I have to sacrifice the zoom function.

But if 200mm f2.8 L vs 135mm f2 L + 1.4x, which is better in picture quality? The 135mm is even more expensive, but in a good focal length for portraits and medium tele (but long enough and too long many situations ~_~?).

始終你未必會永遠都係企果個位離開一樣咁遠去影，定焦雖靚，但毫無彈性，企埋少少都唔掂，要映stage，小白IS+1.4x一定係最佳選擇，因為有大光圈加IS，室內映實掂啦！
