I have f-717 & f-707 before( all sold out ! ) 707 & 717 is the good dc. too.
the photo color : f-707 is better in warm tone.
the body : the f-707 is a little bit better.( just a little bit. )
BUT the function, the noise, f-717 is more better ! ( when you use AF.the manual focusing ring of 717 can use for zoom ring. & the zoom feel is more better than canon pro 1! VERY FAST IN DC.)& have another functions. 707 not have.
F-707 PHOTO IS LOOK SHARPNESS & THE COLOR IS RICH .( the color of F-717 is more FLAT than 707.but you can set up at f-717 make it sharper too. )

conclusion: althougt this two dc. is old dc. too , but very good also.if the price difference is not so big, i think that, the f-717 is more better for you.

(2) you can add all the fliter at f-707, 717 is more easy than other small dc.
becauise this two dc. is use 58mm lens. very popular , you can add all fliter in 58mm (uv, pl,soft,star six, ND .....etc......... ) just like DSLR.( NEED NOT ANY ADAPTER.)& YOU ADDTHE WIDE LENDS MARK IT TO 28MM (USE CANON 58W,OM 0.7X,YOU CANNOT ZOOM, BUT CHEAP & GOOD QUALITY ! ) IF USE SONY HDG 0758 CAN ZOOM ! TO MAKE IT FROM 28MM-133MM & THE QUALITY IS BEST ! BUT VERY EXPENSIVE & VERY BIG & VERY HEAVY ! ) TELE LENS YOU CAN USE OM 1.7X CHEAP & GOOD PHOTO & LIGHT WEIGHT, BUT MUST BE ADD THE ADAPTER RING 55-58MM.
(I LOVE F-717. BEFORE I USE THE DSLR.)I think that if you not to mind about the big size,and the weight you will love it too.
( ps.if f-828 have the same photo quality like f-717, make sure I will buy it ! )
