hihi, I'm thinking abt buying Canon 350D b/c I wanna hv an upgrade from DC to DSLR and the price of 350D is within my budget. I read many reviews @ DCfever and it seems the len that comes with the kit isn't that good. If I only get a body, what kind of lens should I buy? I'm a beginner and I've no idea...=(

淨係夠錢買機係唔夠架，隨時一支鏡都貴過部機，而且仲有其他配件，閃燈、濾鏡，唔知你有冇考慮依點。

If you're beginer of DSLR, higher recommend buy:
350D kit set + 50/1.8 only, only cost $1280 for kit lens & 50/1.8.
Try and use, they are good quailty enough if you used to use DC and sell them for upgrade within the mininium loss.
Don't buy UV for them (they're too cheap for protection) and not recommend ext. flash for beginer.

Good idea. Enjoy the kit lens first. It's never too late to buy new toys if you really want them, but it's always too late to regret buying the wrong things you don't need. :)

I think only body + 50mm f1.8 is prefect match for new beginner

Besides, the metering system of Canon's entry level DSLR is not good. Pls think carefully and compare others.

by the way, you may consider some alternative lens, like sigma and tamron, they have 18-125mm and 18-200mm

all those lens are not bad, can be 一鏡走天涯. they are not as expensive as Canon original lens.

the kit lens is not bad but the zoom range too short which may make you inconvenient. you may save few hundred from the kit len, direct buy a alternative lens.

至於一支過十幾倍zoom亦唔建議新手買, 因為始終DSLR賣點係換鏡
未清楚自己要平(kit)、靚(L鏡)、大光圈(18-50/2.8)、方便(18-200)、易影到(17-85 IS)之前,
Kit係最佳之選, 因為就算要upgrade都只係唔見$200
