題目EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro & EF 100mm f/2.0 USM     Post time: 5 月 11 日

Excuse me,

What is the difference between "EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro" and "EF 100mm f/2.0 USM"?

Can I use EF 100mm f/2.0 USM to take photos for small things?

Must I use "Marco"?

Please give me some ideas. Thanks!

EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro - ratio is 1:1, and minimum focus distance is shorter than 100mm F2.0.

Of course you can use 100mm F2.0 to take small things but would not be effecteive as the Macro lens.

Thanks!

Then what is meant by "1:1"?

I don't know. Please teach me. Thanks.

Also, what are the minimum focus lengths for the two lenses?

1:1 = life size = a bee is 1cm long in life and when you capture it 1:1 on your camera, the bee's image on your film/sensor will also be 1cm long.

有唔明呀
你話1 cm long of the bee,係指你係個view finder 度睇ma?

A 1:1 magnification means that if the object is 1cm long, then at the closest focusing distance, the image on the 35mm film is also 1cm long. The viewfinder does not provide 1:1 magnification, usually about 0.7x for 35mm cameras. So, if you often take closeup pics, use a macro lens.
