I found that photos taken using the captioned camera and lens are much more darker than those taken by other DC (e.g. Panasonic DMC FX-7) even all other conditions such as aperture and shutter speed, are the same (I know FX-7 uses Leica lens but I don't expect to have such a greater difference). Could anyone tell me how can I fine tune the settings in EOS300D so that it can produce brighter photos with sharper colors?

I did do the AV +/- adjustment, but the problem is the colour is not as sharp and saturated as it appears in our nake eyes to be. FX-7 produces a much better result which is close to what I saw in my nake eyes. So did I miss anything in my settings?
