I am helping a friend to buy a prosumer DC, and thinking between A200 & FZ20

- The spec of A200 is very attractive in prosumer DC
- FZ20 is the best ulta zoon with F2.8 lens.

My friends like the wide shoot, so I prefer A200. But from "Dpreview" of A200 DC review, I see the A200 has following weakness and they concern me.

- soft image
- autofocus error
- poor dynamic range in high contract light scene.

I saw many FZ20 photo and feel good with its 1/2.5" CCD, A200 with 2/3" CCD and should have better quality and so it is worth to set price $1000 more than FZ20.

Can any friends provide A200 photo for reference, and any A200 users can comment the above weakness.

PS : 8080 is another good choice but is too expensive. My friends did not consider DSLR as he was frightened by my time & money cleaning CCD, feeding and maintaining DSLR.

image soft e個問題唔太大，我會較hard o的~
autofocus error情況即係咩??係有時暗o的focus耐少少姐!!
28-200mm 都夠用啦~
拍片有800 x 600 (15fps) 同 640 x 480 (30fps)質數好

Auto Focus error : Per "Dpreview" report on A200, A200 will incline to focus the forefront of subject as the focus sensor select the most front tip of subject even though it is very tiny. The report claims among 20 photos, one photo will has this focus error. . Do you have this problem ?

As i know A200 is incline to under expo need to EV +1, White balance & noise control are average.. any more points to consider ??

我都用緊KA A200
整體都好滿意.

focus 又唔覺有問題, 不過我一直都用重點對焦
如果你用"廣闊對焦", 真係有機會唔知對左邊.

相片都唔係好soft, 而且可以set做hard.

不過我好滿意佢好易有黑角 (加fileter後)
要買超薄filter,有時要買原廠先得, 但又成日冇貨.
如果可以Zoom到 300mm 就真係Prefet.

自已睇下鐘意乜啦, 老實講, 本來我都想買FZ20.
不過自己鐘意影景, 所以先買左KM A200. 因為佢有28mm Wide.

KM A系機…「我覺得」差唔多係PROSUMER較為TOP果堆機黎架喇…
如果…唔係真係特別鐘意玩長炮…A系機真係買得過

Thanks for advice, it seems A200 is a good choice. Can you advise the following queries.

1) Does A200 TTL built-in Flash work accurate?

2) I see in A200 spec, the built in flash range is 3.0 m (wide) 3.8 m (Tele), FZ20 is 7m, it seems FZ20 flash power is stronger than A200, What is the GN index of A200 (iso 100, 50mm) ? I think may be around 10.

3) If buying external flash for A200, what is the model #, GN index, and how much $$ that the flash can turn up down and left right.

4) More desirable, can the external flash support high speed sync, wireless flash (motivated by built in flash)

5) How much the A200 battery (other brands), which brand is cheap and good performance.


Any advice and comment is appreciated.

1) Very accurate but don't expect it can replace external flash, but for fill flash purpose it does the job very well.

2) No idea.

3) I am using 5600HS very powerful but expansive, $2,XXX. If you have tight budget you can buy 3600 or other brands such as Sunpak.

4) It supports HSS but not wireless.

5) No idea.

A200 有800 萬像, 2x digital zoom後仲有400萬像(400mm)

if you use external flash, FZ20 will be disqualified due to no TTL support,
otherwise, it is a hard choice, but I suggest you to get KM 200, you can take picture of yourself.

呢期真係幫唔到你, 因為我冇買外閃, 又好少用閃光燈.
不過我部機在28mm時, 機頂閃燈有黑角.

之前有人買左隻GOKI 代用電, $150左右, 但好以話俾原廠電差好多,
你試下找下d post 啦.
