I'm considering to buy a new PC recently (budget: $3K~$3.5K). My previous one is Fuji Finepix2600 bought in US. 2.1mp but easy to use and the pics turned out terrific. However, I need a higher pixel model for better picture prints.

After reading so many users' reviews, I would like to choose from these four DC:
1) Canon IXUS 700: Overall excellant appearance. However, I am quite concered about its battery life, which may not meet my requirements during long trips abroad.

2) Casio Z750: Before I never focus on this brand. But many users' positive review draw my attention.

3) Fuji F10: As a Fuji user, I feel quite confident about its good pictures. And competitive price is also a good point.

4) Ricoh GX8: High pixel, wide...But heard of that its pictures actually not that good as expected. Quite confusing.

Wondering if you professional guys could help me for some opinions....And where to buy for a cheaper price in HK? Many thanks!

ricoh gx8----相片質素一般!而且見到用家既feedback都係麻麻!如果要買!真係要諗清楚!聽講話影夜景唔太好!雜訊多!同時部機既反應一般!

casio z750----本人是這部機的用家!casio呢部機確實唔錯!反應極快速!對焦速度高!開機快!相片儲存速度高!快門時滯只需0.007秒!真係一部snapshot利器!加上功能多多!又有手動、拍片勁及場景多等!好好玩既一部機仔!相片質素方面!呢4部機之中排第3!應該好過gx8!但不及ixus700及f10!相片色彩過於鮮艷!略嫌有少少不太自然!但本人十分接受!我覺得用來影人幾靚!自動白平衡有時不太準!特別在室內!要用手動白平衡化解!第3代exlim引擎在雜訊控制方面唔錯!但只限在iso50-100!iso200雜訊開始明顯!iso400時!雜訊非常嚴重!一般細機既通病!建議影夜景時!要set腳架!用iso50及用手動去調整!只要set得好!都可以拍出很靚的夜景相!電量方面!十分強勁!叉一次電可影325張以上!整體來講!算係優點多於缺點!值得買!

ixus700!曾經有諗過買這部機!可是最終還是揀了z750!因為這部機功能較少!沒有手動係其中一個我唔揀佢既原因!加上拍片冇mepg4!所以...!!不過若果執著相片質素為優先考慮條件的話!買呢部機會好少少!相片質素會比z750高d!色準!顏色真實!雜訊控制良好!比z750會好少少!但是只限iso50-200!iso400時!雜訊和z750一樣強勁!
電量方面不算太強!又沒有電量顯示!

f10!因為外型唔多好睇!加上用xd!而且聽講富士機易壞!所以被我否決左!否則這部是幾吸引的!這部機用上super ccd!感光度高!有iso80-1600!富士機一向色彩處理很好!4部機之中!相質最好應該係呢部!色彩夠晒真實自然!有film味!加上雜訊處理非常強勁!就算用上iso1600!佢既雜訊都比ixus700及z750的iso400為少!一般用到iso800都ok可以接受!因此在影夜景時!就算唔落腳架!都可以影得好好!至於電力方面亦十分強勁!竟然比casio還要強勁!叉一次電可以影成500張!

I have used R1 (not GX8) and F10. Agree with sum38193819's comment 100%. Very concise, right to the points, both pro and cons pointed out clearly, and to me it's unbias.
I have helped my friends to buy 3 Fuji F10, so I second F10. XD card drops to less than $670 for 1G already. I said that in another thread, F10's ISO 1600 is VERY good and I always use 800 for indoor. Most of the time, no flash is required!

Thanks for all buddies comments, especially to sum38193819' clarification. As choosing my 2nd DC, I would like to prefer one that can produce great pictures especially night shots and possess good battery for surviving long trips. Personally, MPEG4 isn't that important to me (dunno why, just no interested at video shooting...)

So I will narrow down my choices to
1) Canon IXUS 700
2) Fuji F10

Really appreciate your comments & help :-)

P.S.: to edisonick, as you mentioned, F10 水貨$24XX 行價 $35XX; IXUS700 水貨$27XX 行貨$33XX, I wonder if the WATER can have quality proof...and it's made in Japan or China? Does dcfev** shop have these two products in stock?

i have Fuji F700 ..... i bought it 2 yrs ago......its 512mb xD cost USD $170.....#$%^& expensive man~~~ ><

but now......even 1GB xD i can find it below USD $80 on ebay, HK's price won't be any more expensive, and most important, the xD card wont' really just stay w/ ur Fuji cam.... by the time u want to get a DSLR, u can buy a xD-to-CF adapter to use the xD card into the CF slot : )

@ this point, megapixel ain't everything... but overall perfomrance/quaility are. between IXUS 700 & F10?

i tried F10 myself @ store, pre-focus only slightly slower than mine F700 but produce much better picture!! (color tend to more natural than F700's slightly-over-vivid color) and its ISO 1600.....oh my god....already beat up my beloved Minolta A200.....

No doubt that F10 is MUCH BETTER than IXUS 700 in this aspect.

While the battery of IXUS 700 dies after 103 min. in capture mode, that of F10 can run for 273 min. in the same situation. <*1>
For nite shots F10 can give you "star" lights even in large aperature, sharp and with low noise<*2>

I bought a hong F10 at $30XX in dcXXXXX CWB with 128MB XD when it first came out. The bought two water goods at $2450 without cards. All are made in Japan. Rumour that, in HK, water goods shops provide better service than hong.
To me, I started to notice Fuji after I saaw samples of E550 and F810. F10 is a killer with the usable high ISO, long battery life and good photo quality esp in Chrome (positive) picture mode.

Btw, ich, "All are made in Japan. Rumour that, in HK, water goods shops provide better service than hong." I wonder if their quality would be same, and if the HONG goods provide worldwide service including mainland China. How about the WATER ones? So that if any emergency it will be easy for us to ask for help anywhere when travelling.
