You need not buy a DSLF. You can buy a Minolta scanner Dual IV (about $2K+)to scan your film. (Maximum 1.4 mega pixels). The qualities of the pictures are surely better than that of the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II. I know many Minolta fans do the same way. Of course, you should first possess a film camera and a lens with high quality .

Your budget of HK$6K is too low. You better wait for 1 year more to let the price drops. Or you might try some second hand DLSR.

i am sure that you can't get all the gears you want in $6000. As to the film scanning, if you can wait "one and a half hour" or more to scan ONE roll of film, then get a film scanner.
