No sure if C 兄 has this situation, use flash to shoot people in Chinese restaurant, the background is yellow tone. If want to make the background more normal tone instead of yellow, then adjust the white balance to tungsten light, the background can adjust to normal color, but the flash light fire on people will be unacceptable blue. Because the white balance can only adjust two different light tone at once.

There are some other solutions :

1) Use small aperture : absorb less background light, but the background is too dark.
2) Bounce at ceiling : mixing of background and flash light, but still incline to yellow
3) two syn flashes : one fire on people, one bounce on ceiling, but still output of flash has limit in large area.

The last way I am thinking is to add yellow filter on flash head, then the color of flash light color consistent with yellow background light, and then use tungsten light white balance to adjust the yellow flash light and background at all. Do any C 兄 work in this way ?? Where can buy such flash filter ??

經常看到一些夜景人像或室內燈光光源下的照片極度偏紅.拍夜景拍到好似火燭咁講得好聽係有氣氛,講得唔好聽係偏色,失真.室內更加搞到好似倒瀉橙汁咁.

究其原因多是用了閃光燈,相機為了遷就閃燈的色溫,用了閃燈白平衡,放棄了背景.夜景還好一點,最壞也不過是背景偏色,室內的話由於人物在閃燈後仍受現場光影響,顏色隨着曝光時間增長而慢慢變紅,這令攝影者陷入兩難局面,一方面想加長曝光時間等背景冇咁暗,一方面又害怕人物變成黃膽病.

部份人會第一時間想到攺用燈光白平衡,我也是其中一個.沒錯背景是沒有變紅了,可惜人郤變了籃面外星人.

於是又有人極力避免使用閃光燈,可是閃光燈的存在證明有時冇佢係唔得的.

利用STO-FEN出品的金黃色閃光燈柔光罩可有效解決這問題,閃燈光經過瀘後變成接近燈光色溫.這時即使用燈光白平衡人也不會變藍了.由於前後色溫一致,曝光時間只影響曝光值而不影響人物色溫,室內拍攝變得容易掌握了.

實際試用下這柔光罩並不配合所有相機.配合燈光白平衡明顯偏紅的Canon 300D人物色溫正確,可惜實際上背景仍稍偏紅.配合矯色程度較大的機種就會出現人物較微偏藍問題.

這也不是壞事,起碼我可以想辦法加黃,太黃就好難減.在罩內加一至兩片Cokin 81D暖色瀘片可配合到矯色程度較大的機種.

現今已經有相機可以用K數調節白平衡,這真是太好了,事實上燈光也不是單一色溫的,室內射燈要較大程度的矯正,維港對岸就只要輕微矯正.這時加減瀘片就可配合.

最後是講缺點的時間,瀘光的副作用就係減光,閃燈火力會下降接近一半,建議配合強力外閃使用.

Thx very much for your detail explanation and sharing, they are very helpful for me.

After using the 金黃色閃光燈柔光罩, I understand the color tone of flash light fire on people may not be correct at white balance "Tungsten" mode. My istDS does not white balance curve to adjust. But I can use manual white balance to fine tune the flash light (with orange diffuser) to be normal on people. Same as you said the background orange may be still with some orange tone, but at least it gets some improvement (I think). But no matter what situation, correct color tone on people is prime consideration rather than the environment, so I can sacrifice the background with a bit orange tone.

If not considering the troublesome, I will take your advice to add / reduce orange filter on flash head to fine tune until the color tone of flash is consistent with background.

Tonight I will try to use the orange plastic document folder to DIY the orange diffuser, see what is the effect.

Where you buy 金黃色閃光燈柔光罩 ?? how much ??

金黃色閃光燈柔光罩再加cokin瀘光片是可以tune到閃燈色溫跟燈光一致的,我的例子相片便是.

我用咗一排發覺成日加減瀘光片都幾麻煩,所以我現在都帶兩個柔光罩,一個加兩塊瀘光片在室內燈光時用.一個不加瀘光片影夜景人像時用.

Last night I DIY the yellow diffuser by yellow document folder.

The most diffcult part is to set manual white balance to tune the flash light (with yellow diffuser) to be normal light tone. Setting by white page is not accurate and incline to red, I need to use orange paper to tune it to normal tone.

In photo # 4, the orange tone at background is reduced but not complete eliminated, So I should add more yellow filter at flash head, but then is another half hour to fine tune the white balance, so I give up and let it be.

This morning I tested it in day light, Moo…. outside the flash light area is completely blue tone, it save the PS work to make special blue effect.....
