There are 4 "levels" for Canon film EOS, which developed through years of experience.
There is indeed quite a large gap between the 1D/s and 20D, whether it's 3, 10, anything else.
The $ point would between 1D and 20D. 2X $20D could be a good "point", as the 1D = 3X $20D. (No matter the manufactoring cost. It is the market.)
Canon already has the tech to make 11mp full-frame.
It's well worth to "loss" some, to get the critical market share, and earn later.
1X and 1.6X but no 1.3X? OK, still enough 20D and 350D user "for" the development of EFs, as only 2~3 more large aperture wide/standard prime lenses, the game could be completed.

傳說中的 3D (佳能eos 1系與其他相機之間的機種) 傳了不知不覺己三年，回看菲林相機生產次序，當 canon 認為DSLR市場接近飽和，3D就會出場。但是現在，20D和350D的銷費市場仍離飽和很遠，相信傳說中的3D不會在這一兩年出現！

NIKON D200 註冊左就話人地發夢
CANON 3D 咁既 SPEC 都有人信
body 係低 grade 左少少, 不過以 FF 對 1D II 既 1.3, 仲要平左成萬, 就知唔會太大可能
如果係咁 1D II 會點??? 1D II 唔係出左好耐, 上年9月到而加, 保養都未過就出左比自己平, 仲要比自己高 grade 既機

另外, canon 對 body 既要求唔及 nikon, 因為 nikon 會影響對焦速度, 同一支小黑3係 d70 上同 d2x 上, 對焦分別好大, 但 canon 機本上無分別
