get the Nikkor 70-210mm f4-5.6, it's one of the best inexpensive zoom around, AND it's a Nikkor afterall!!! Don't get any 3rd party lens, especially the cheap ones... they're cheap for a good reason.

最平而又用得下大概是 Nikon AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6G ！HK$850而已。

70-300mm f4.0-5.6G is not a bad choice either, but the long end is just too soft & it's mostly plastic. The 70-210mm is a much sharper performer thru out the whole zoom range. Price for the 70-300mm is about HK$1000 used. The 70-210mm is around HK$1200 for a good used copy. Your choice.

i use Tarmon 70-300 LD, just $1280, cheapest tele zoom with macro, color is quite solid, quality is nice with this price range
