I had Canon EF-S 10-22 and used it in Australia Sydney. It captures all the scenes and even your own feet. Optical quality is the best so far for the range. I can combine it with my good old 28-70mm Canon lens especially on traveling.

Anti-flare is very good that I can shoot with the sun included without image quality degradation.

Still, it is hard to frame and need slim UV or polarisation to avoid vignetting.

有好人認為lens 要夠wide,最好wide到10mm等等影出來d相先致夠勁
呢個觀念係大錯特錯, 如果唔識構圖唔識frame位, 比支10mm 你出來都係同支35mm無分別, 如果你識frame位, 一支24mm已經好好用, 更何況kit lens 有18mm.
用到10~22mm 的wide鏡, 有以下三個問題在構圖時要考慮的:
1. 四邊変形問題. 由於物理特性的關係, 無論點靚的wide 鏡多少都有此問題.
2. 主體的放置的位置的構圖問題. 去到10mm的超廣角鏡時, 會把中央的東西変得更細, 所以主體如果放於中央,則要注意size可能縮得很細(作品就変得沒有了主體), 放於則邊,又要注意変形的問題.
3. 攝影的角度問題, 正如上面提過的, 如果只是拿支10~22mm的wide鏡, 用一個普通的角度拍攝的話, 出來的效果可能同支24或34mm無分別.到時一支6千多元的super wide鏡, 在用家的地位就會下降, 最後的命運就是, 放在dcfever的二手市場用7折的價格賣出吐現了(此個案之前多的是).

所以wide唔wide並非主要影響by 鏡及器材, 主要 影響by 自己技術!!!!
技術好的, 用一支24mm 什致28mm都可以用得出神入化, 如果沒有技術,用支10mm都無用,與期一路心思想upgrade器材, 不如想想如何更upgrade 技術.器材如何upgrade都係有限,且花費巨大, 但技術, 創意是無限的, 且不用花費.
這只是小弟有感而發, 言論過激請諒.

Taking this opportunity, I have a silly question to ask. I have a Canon 28-70mm and 70-200mm L-series Canon Lens. I suppose to buy a 350D kit set, a friend told me that the conventional lens are not affect by the 1.6X. If it is true, then I may buy the 350D body only!

Because from my first consideration, all the Canon lens will be affected by the 1.6X factor! Without the kit lens 18-55mm, I am afraid some photos will not be wide enough.

Please advise.

Actually, you are right. Your lens will become 45-112mm and 112-320mm if used on a 350D. That's why Canon produced a new line of EF-S lens:

Kit lens 18-55mm will become 28.8-88mm which is a general purpose walkaround lens;
EF-S 17-85mm IS USM is also a general purpose walkaround lens equivalent to 28-136mm in full frame camera;
EF-S 10-22mm USM is equivalent to 16-35mm in full frame camera.

Well, you may found that you save some money in buying tele lens due to the 1.6x factor, e.g. you do not need to buy a 300mm lens since your 70-200mm will already be suitable.
