How about its quality compare to Tamron 28-70mm F2.8 ?

I want to have a fixed F2.8 lens, last night Dcfever quoted me $27xx. very attractive !!

I prefer Sigma as 24 mm is wider than Tamron 28mm

The size of Sigma is much larger than Tarmon, but it has faster AF,

Rol, you know, I am planning to buy a full frame DSLR (eg . EOS5D) and that's why our mentioned lens would be useful.

I have faith in Tamron cause I have owned 70-300 before and I am currently using 90mm Macro Di. I feel quite happy with the price and quality. That's why I consider Tamron 28-78. However, I also consider Sigma 24-70. Here are my PERSONAL PROS & CONS.

Sigma 24-70
PROS
1) 4 mm wider than Tamron.
You may say that Tamron is 8 mm more tele but I personally like a wider lens on a FF body and I think 8mm tele doesn't have much different.
2) Looks better than Tamron.

CONS
1) Some (not all) 20D users have problem with Sigma 24-70. It happens that the lens can't match 20D
2) Some bad comments on other lenes of Sigma (eg. Plastic fading out)

Tamron 28-78
PROS
1) Lighter.
2) Previous experience with Tamron.

CONS
1) Look isn't as good.
2) Not wide enough.
