Hi I am looking for one also.

Having owned a 2.5 inch LCD monitor camera before, I wouldn't choose anything that's not, so the coolpix S1 is not for me. FX7 is a bit old with battery problem. You can go with FX8 (300 pix per chrage) OR FX9. I like them both. The anti-shakes is useful.

Don't know much about the Canon i zoom. Weird looking but takes good pictures.

Pentax Optio S5z seems to take good pictures but has a battery problem. Lots of editing features though.

The X1 seems really cool. However, is it over-killed for a pocket camera to have 8 mil. megapixel? good anti-shake feature.

All the cameras above are 2.5 inch LCD, but users mostly complain about the poor resolution. i am looking at the Casio z500 with 2.7 inch lcd with much higher resolution. It can take 500 pix per charge. With anti-shake (some say it's not too useful though from s500). Don't know about the photo quality yet. Waiting for user online review.
