Some of those good Canon lenses have FTM Focus function. Assuming the autofocus of the lens is correct, why should one use the FTM function?

Under what cicumstances the photographer will use FTM even after the camera has correctly focused on the desired object?

FTM function is when you could not af in some situation and you manually focus by turning the ring without having to switch the mf on.

With other lenses, you have to tick the mf switch before you could do mf.

FTM is convenient for rapid shooter and sports occasions in very faster action frames.

It's essential in macro photo as the DOF is too narrow, very helpful for fast AF than adjust by MF w/o switching.
