After 6 months working with 20D and 1Ds. This is my findings, in the order of it effect of image quality:

1. MUCH MUCH better focus accurancy: Especially in indoor, off centre, avaiable light situation. Virtually no focusing error on the 1Ds as compare to 50%+ focusing error on the 20D. In the above mentioned situations

2. Shutter vibration: I found the low shutter speed shoot on the 1Ds is much bette than the 20D. Even on tripod mount shoot. What I can think of is shutter vibration.

3. Heavy body weight: Which help to eliminate the body movement when you press the shutter. It also help a lot in the slow shutter sharpness. I can get very sharp image on a 24mm shoot with shutter as slow as 1/8s on the 1Ds but not on the 20D

4. Bigger and bigger view finder: Which mean you are able to "see" the actual focus easily. On the 20D, you can never tell whether the focus is accurate or not from the view finder in low light situation (e.g. indoor or late afternoon).

This is the real personal experience of myself. Any more idea?

點解1系咁正和勁的機, 但使用者介面不及20d方便? 很多時要按兩個按鈕, 或左手同時按下兩個按鈕再加右手撥右手邊的轉盤/鍵才成, 當然用慣就無問題, 但在光線不足的情況下(例如個別表演場地或後台), 若果要用手電筒的話, 便很狼狽了. 小弟好想知道c記咁設計是否有特別原因?

借用madxngai的"準成度"這個恰當的字眼, 因1系的成品準成度極高, 要求用者的技術準成度也同樣高(當然攝影manner, 構圖, 創作意念等也要一樣高, 而攝影manner最重要), 就簡單以曝光和對焦來講, 在20D可以"蒙混過關"的成品(請容許小弟暫時用這個字眼作解釋), 在1系便會"現形". (PS: 這兒所講的"對焦"是指對焦屏上AF點, 有時centre of interest並不在AF點上的, 並非指out focus和焦點前移後移啊). 小弟攝影年資尚淺, 如說錯了話, 請各高手師兄師姐高抬貴手. Happy Shooting!

係光線暗環境下,可以開內置燈光!! 唔明，Ｄ制冇背光架，如果講個黑白LCD的話，20D都可以，不過1系那個是藍色泠光，我都覺得超有型！

Have to press more than one button at different place, is to prevent from mishit, as previously mentioned. The concept appeared decades ago (think about MD4 for F3, etc).

You should "learn" the buttons' function, until you can operate in total darkness. In this sense, the 5D should indeed a high end consumer product, and might not for you, the pro.

Nikon mentioned again and again their consistence layout, from D70 to D2X, which helps you to choose freely for the backup.
