hi all,

i finally bought the Nikon D70s + Kit lens + 50mm F1.8 + Tokina 12-24mm F4 + Nikon 70-300mm F4-5.6 G and SB800 flash.....

i m so happy but if i have more budget, i will buy the nikon 12-24mm F4
i think the lens is more than enough for a beginner like me......

but i haev to say, after taking many photos, i found the following,
the focus is fast, the 50mm F1.8 is worth to buy for beginner as it deliver good pics quality + field of depth......

when i compare my tokina wide and nikon wide (my friend's one), the outlook of the lens are almost the same........
so i start wondering .. is tokina the oem of the nikon len 12-24mm Wide F4, with the only diff - ED lens.......

so far, i have no regret on my decision on nikon.... as it really deliver good pics, the only thing i found the pics i took was a bit blue in colour... what can i do to eliminate it?

I nearly have the same gear as you =P

seems D70's white balance is not as accurate, are you using AWB?
try to use daylight WB (Cloud one) when u shoot outside, u can even fine tune the color temperature for particular WB setting. Hope it can help. =)

hi rabbit and hlleung,

with all the above items, i paid almost 16000 with 1gb ultra II CF card.....
but i really enjoy it now....
even though it cost a bit....
the tokina , i paid for 3600 hkd dealer good.... i think it is okay.. but the uv protector cost me 300hkd

i m using AWB, because i normally not change the setting of the white balance
so if i take on portrait? what should be my setting... as now, i found that it is a bit dark and blue....
for scenic, it also seems to be dark as well......
