I supposed detail is the level of "information" reserved in the image.
Sharpness is the distinctness of edges. But the sharpness of lens generally refered to its resolving power.
Sharp =/= detail.

If a photo not sharp enough, how many detail can be provided? I don't hear before a detail photo is not sharp.

Details and sharpness are two different concepts.
你試下睇多些相，Dslr配靚鏡，一般DC，在1:1的情況下比較下，你就會知。不過如果你搞唔清呢兩個concept，就點睇都唔明。
舉個例，Fuji F10的相有好多details，但唔夠sharp。

可能你用開的都是靚機靚鏡，未用過DC仔啦，唔知有些機仔真係唔多夠sharp。

Fujinon Lens 同 Canon 差唔多, 比較柔同色散勁!
不過可以 PP 補救
Detail lost 就神仙都難救

For example:
Campare Canon 350D and SONY W series:
SONY W is definitely sharper (perhaps oversharpened), from my observation.
But when you compare in depth, you will find the level of detail of canon 350D is much higher, especially viewed in full size, 100% crop...etc.
So, they are different things to be more precise.

一張稍soft的相係可以比一張oversharp 既相包含更多details

簡單黎講..
sharp 可以事後用 PS 攪..
Detail 不足的話任由你點 sharp 都係覺得畫面單調、無質感..平面的感覺。所以買相機唔好一味睇 sharp 唔 sharp 有冇noise 等..

何以見得 Sony W7 - Sharp D but less details, Fuji F10 - Soft D buy more details?
虛心發問, 請賜教.
愚對此Topic之了解為, 要 Detail 既相一定要 Sharp, 吾 Sharp 既相無可能會 Detail.
當然影響 Detail 既原素不單受鏡頭之質素而定, 還要配合適當之曝光才可以保留 Detail.
依愚之理解 Detail 及 Sharp 既定義為
Detail = 細節
Sharp = 清晰
提供兩張相片之(100%Crop)作參考, 不比鏡頭不比機只作 (細節) 及 (清晰) 之分析
以上兩張相均有使用腳架
那一張較細節, 那一張較清晰?

Sharpness 一般是由於相中光位同暗位之差異做成
imaging-resource 中 F10 光位同暗位之間 graduation 比較慢, W7 比較快, 所以看來 W7 較 sharp
但細心留意草堆就可見 F10 capture 出更多細節
兄所出 sample , 好明顯上圖在 detail 同 sharpness 均不及下圖.
看過兄的作品都知應該係小弟向兄學野先o岩
